As we age, we often find our posture changes as well. Our muscles become less flexible and tight, especially if we spend a great deal of our time hunched over a desk. This can lead to lack of muscle strength which can in turn also affect our balance and ease of movement.

Good Posture
Good posture will also improve blood flow around the body and keep nerves and blood vessels healthy. Also, people who work at maintaining a good posture are far less likely to experience back and neck pain.
Our Services

Postural Assessment
My postural assessment is an opportunity for you to receive feedback on your standing posture, musculoskeletal system and functional movements. Functional movements are those that we use as part of our everyday lives, such as lifting something out of a car or picking up a small child.
The postural assessment is face to face and begins with a consultation, a visual assessment and some simple movement tests.
Sessions last around one hour and will be followed up with a summary report, containing recommendations regarding how your posture and movement could be improved and what exercises will help you.
Many clients follow this assessment with the Corrective Exercise Programme.

Corrective Exercise Therapy
The Exercise Therapy Programme is the next step after postural assessment. It is designed to address specific movement or mobility issues.
The sessions are tailored to each individual client and contain all the necessary tools to help you become mobile again. We’ll assess your movement restriction and the reasons for it, creating a bespoke weekly exercise plan to help improve the limitations you are suffering from.
The programme is typically a course of 6 sessions over 6-10 weeks and begins with a postural assessment.

Suspension Training
Suspension training is a great safe way to build up your mobility and strength and is beneficial following a Corrective Exercise Programme. By using your own body weight and gravity instead of traditional weights you are less likely to become injured as you get the resistance you need to build your muscles from your body alone.
The beauty of this system, is it allows you to adjust the difficulty level of many common exercises, so it will always work in line with your specific needs.

Pilates
Pilates is a form of exercise that strengthens the body with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing.
Pilates takes a whole-body approach and teaches the body to work in synergy.
Sports performance can be improved through doing Pilates, even if you are a recreational sports person. It can also help to undo the damage of an increasingly sedentary lifestyle and enable you to keep doing the sports that you love.
I will create a routine for you tailored to your needs and will adjust it according to your progress.

Sports Massage Therapy
It is designed to help to correct problems and imbalances in soft tissue, caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. If you have a restricted range of motion you can benefit from techniques employed by manual therapy.
All sports massages are tailored specifically for you and focus on targeting those areas causing aches and pains.

Post Breast Cancer Rehab
Rehabilitation is important for anyone who has had or will have breast cancer surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.
When the acute stage has passed and you have been signed off by your doctor, I will work with you, through physical therapy exercises to help reduce your swelling, improve range of motion, increase your energy and help you to return to a normal life.

Personal Training
If you are interested in challenging yourself further and doing more to increase your fitness, then one-to-one personal training sessions can help you to reach your goals.
Personal training focuses on working with a client to become fitter and stronger using a variety of methods, including fitness machines, weights and bands.
We begin with a health screening and based on this I will design a tailored, safe and effective exercise programme.
Each session lasts one hour, and programmes run for 12 weeks.

Strength & Balance Training for Seniors
An exercise programme is important at all times of life, but especially as we age.
Physical activity will improve flexibility and reduce the risk of some health conditions.
Being mobile, strong, and steady on your feet will help you to stay independent, enabling you to continue with your hobbies and activities, as well as boost confidence.
I work with clients on a one-to-one basis as well as run Strength & Balance Classes for Seniors.
